Truck-Mounted Mobile Power

When emergency power is needed, having a generator is only part of the solution. The real value comes from being able to move the power source quickly, connect it easily, and operate it safely wherever it is required.

Precision Industries developed this customized 700 kVA truck-mounted standby generator as a complete mobile power solution for emergency, utility, infrastructure, and critical power applications. It combines a high-performance generator, heavy-duty truck, large onboard fuel capacity, fast electrical connections, advanced controls, and practical safety features in one compact package.

Reliable Power at the Heart of the System

The generator is powered by a Perkins 2806A-E18TAG2 diesel engine and coupled with a Stamford HCI544F alternator. The alternator package includes advanced AVR, PMG, anti-condensation heating, synchronization provisions, and other features designed to support reliable power generation in demanding operating conditions.

The generating set is installed inside a customized 20-foot container-type enclosure, providing   protection and an acoustic performance of 85 dB(A) at 1m. The result is a robust power package suitable for outdoor operation while keeping the equipment protected and serviceable.

Mobile Power Wherever It Is Needed

The complete system is mounted on a 6×4 heavy-duty road truck, allowing the generator to be transported quickly between different locations. The project also considered a compact truck arrangement to improve access to sites with narrow roads and restricted working areas.

Instead of transporting and setting up separate equipment, the generator arrives as a self-contained mobile power station ready for deployment. This makes it well suited for emergency power restoration, utility maintenance, planned shutdowns, temporary power, industrial projects, infrastructure works, and other critical standby applications.

Extended Operation with Flexible Fuel Supply

For longer operation in the field, the generator baseframe incorporates a 1,400-litre built-in fuel tank, providing substantial onboard fuel capacity for standby and emergency duties. The system also includes provision for easy connection to an external fuel tank when extended operating duration is required.

This gives the operator flexibility to use the onboard tank for normal deployment and connect an external fuel source for longer missions. A residential-grade muffler with spark arrestor is also incorporated into the exhaust system to support safe and practical field operation.

Fast and Practical Power Connection

One of the most important features of a mobile generator is how quickly it can be connected once it reaches the site. The system includes 30 metres of heavy-duty power cable with eight runs of 240 mm² conductors, together with a cable-reel arrangement integrated into the generator enclosure.

For faster deployment, the cables can be arranged with Camlock-type connectors to provide a quick, secure, and practical connection to the external load. This helps reduce site connection time – an important advantage during emergency response and temporary power deployment.

Advanced Control and Multiple Generator Synchronization

The package incorporates a Deep Sea DSE8610 generator controller, supported by voltage and current monitoring, battery charging, and additional metering functions.

The control architecture also supports the possibility of synchronizing multiple generator sets when required. This allows units to operate in parallel where additional capacity, redundancy, or greater operating flexibility is needed. In practical terms, the mobile power system can be expanded to match the power requirement of the application.

Strong Electrical Protection

The unit is equipped with a four-pole Schneider 1250 A motorized circuit breaker, with protection functions including earth leakage protection, shunt trip, and undervoltage protection. These features help protect both the generator and the connected electrical system during operation.

Designed with Safety in Mind

The finished truck incorporates practical field features such as access stairs, service platforms, safety handrails, high-visibility markings, emergency-stop access, and service doors. These details support safer and more efficient operation and maintenance in the field.

The project specification also includes residential-grade exhaust silencing with thermal insulation, together with fire extinguishers.

Tested Before Deployment

For emergency power equipment, reliability cannot be assumed – it must be proven. The project specification includes a Factory Acceptance Test followed by a 48hour reliability test at the Precision Industries facility in Dubai before field deployment.

More Than a Generator on a Truck

This project brings generator engineering, vehicle integration, fuel management, electrical protection, fast connection, controls, synchronization capability, acoustic design, and operator safety into one practical package.
